Rokstone has quoted Jimmy Heaton as head of D&O.
Heaton will lead the D&O team in his new role. He joins from Nexus Underwriting, where he served as managing director of management liability. He brings with him more than a decade of D&O underwriting experience, the outset of his career at AXA. He later moved to WRB in 2016 and Nexus Underwriting in 2019.
“We’re delighted Jimmy has chosen to join Rokstone to inaugurate and lead our D&O team,” said Rokstone managing director Ian Anson. “Complex SME and mid-market D&O remains relatively underserviced across the UK and EEA, and is often an area of frustration among placing brokers; these risks essentially fall through the gap between online systems and London Market corporate/subscription placements. It is challenging areas of niche specialty lines like these that are Rokstone’s sweet spot – it is what we excel at.”
Anson added that Rokstone will give brokers a “reliable and compatible underwriting partner,” and will serve as brokers’ “go-to” contact for tricky D&O risks.
“Jimmy is highly focussed and driven and has a proven track record of successfully establishing and sustaining a profitable D&O portfolio,” the managing director said. “We’re delighted that Rokstone was his first choice and to have him on board.”
The appointment of Heaton comes after Rokstone earlier this month launched a new global professional indemnity (PI) facility. The facility is for all professional and financial lines risk domiciled in the UK and the EU with a £2 million primary and a £5 million excess of loss limit.
