Sedgwick has launched a new learning and development service, Talent Solutions, aimed at enhancing workforce skills and capabilities for insurance and corporate clients in the UK. This offering, part of Sedgwick’s Third-Party Administration (TPA) division, expands the company’s portfolio of workforce-focused services.
The Talent Solutions platform delivers training across various levels, from front-line employees to leadership teams and technical specialists. It offers a flexible range of learning formats, including in-person workshops, virtual classrooms, e-learning modules and blended approaches, ensuring a tailored fit for diverse organisational needs.
The service is led by Carolyn Blunt, a seasoned expert in learning and development with over two decades of experience across the insurance and contact centre sectors. Blunt’s background includes designing robust training frameworks and supporting skill development in alignment with operational objectives.
Sedgwick has positioned this service as a complement to its broader suite of resource solutions, which also includes recruitment, secondments, and onboarding. Together, these offerings aim to support clients in managing workforce performance and capability through integrated people strategies.
The launch comes amid a broader shift in the UK corporate training market, where demand for tailored, skills-focused development is on the rise. This trend is particularly pronounced in the insurance sector, where rapid technological advancements—driven by automation, artificial intelligence and data transformation—are prompting firms to intensify their upskilling and reskilling efforts. Additionally, changing regulatory landscapes, evolving customer expectations and the shift to hybrid work models are pushing organisations to rethink how training is designed, delivered and measured.
Recent industry studies highlight a growing appetite among insurers for learning and development (L&D) solutions that emphasize agility, compliance, customer engagement and digital proficiency. As labour market pressures persist, operational leaders are increasingly prioritising the cultivation of internal talent pipelines over reliance on external recruitment, reflecting a strategic move to build more resilient, future-ready workforces.
