Amiga Specialty Expands Transactional Risks Platform
Amiga Specialty has strengthened its transactional risks division with a series of new appointments designed to accelerate its UK and European expansion.
Sam Batchelor has been named head of transactional risks for Europe, reporting to Richard Mills, managing director of transactional risks. He is joined by underwriters Meeza Keziah Cabansag and George Brain, who will support underwriting operations and business development initiatives.
The enhanced team supports Amiga’s ambition to become a leading provider of warranty and indemnity solutions across the UK and EU. The hires follow Amiga’s recent announcement of a multi-million-pound capacity arrangement with the Accelerant Risk Exchange, with additional capacity partnerships anticipated.
Apollo Announces Leadership Transitions within MET Division
Apollo has introduced a series of leadership changes within its MET division as part of a planned, phased succession strategy.
Simon Mason, a key figure at Apollo since 2013 and a driving force behind the growth of the MET division, will retire on January 1, 2026. He will remain available through the forthcoming reinsurance renewal cycle to ensure a seamless transition.
Martin Jackson will step up as head of MET while continuing in his role as class leader for aviation. Supporting him, Mark Phythian will become deputy head of MET, and Ciara Sheikh will take on the role of class leader for cargo. Additional internal promotions will further reinforce continuity and stability within the division.
