SullivanCurtisMonroe Insurance Services (SCM) has announced the appointment of Steve Marquez as its new president. With more than three decades of experience in the insurance industry, Marquez brings a wealth of expertise and leadership to the role.
Marquez began his insurance career over 30 years ago as an underwriter at Continental Insurance. Throughout his career, he has been recognized for crafting innovative coverage solutions and delivering exceptional customer service—values that align seamlessly with SCM’s mission and longstanding reputation.
His extensive leadership experience in the Orange County insurance market includes serving as vice president at Armstrong/Robitaille Insurance, which later evolved into BB&T and subsequently McGriff. At McGriff, Marquez held the position of corporate senior vice president, further solidifying his reputation as a strategic leader.

He has twice been recognized by the Orange County Business Journal as an “Insurance Leader of Influence.” Additionally, he has completed the Executive Scholar program in Organizational Leadership at Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management, showcasing his dedication to professional development.
