McLoughlin brings more than 20 years of experience in the insurance sector. Most recently, he served as national sales manager at LV= General Insurance and has previously held positions at Legal & General and HomeServe.

DAC Beachcroft strengthens Manchester professional risk team

International law firm DAC Beachcroft has expanded its professional risk practice in Manchester with the appointment of partner Ben Parks and a team of five lawyers and a paralegal from Clyde & Co.

Parks became a partner at Clyde & Co in 2022 and previously spent a decade as a partner at BLM. He is widely recognised in the professional liability market and specialises in advising on complex, high-value, and multi-party claims involving professionals.

Suzanne Wharton, partner and head of DAC Beachcroft’s national professional risk practice, described the move as a strategic step to reinforce the firm’s presence in the North West and further strengthen its national platform. She highlighted Parks’ strong client relationships and technical expertise as key assets.

The firm has introduced the new role of national technical director, appointing Colum Tudball, who brings more than 40 years of experience in technical leadership and operational management within the loss adjusting sector.

In this role, Tudball will work across QuestGates’ commercial loss adjusting teams to refine technical processes, serve as a senior referral point for complex claims, and provide guidance to ensure optimal outcomes. He will also focus on mentoring and developing the next generation of adjusters.

His appointment forms part of a broader expansion of the major and complex loss division.
