Several senior appointments and board changes have been announced across the UK insurance market over the past 24 hours, spanning market governance, claims leadership and specialty underwriting.
LMA appoints Moore and Mistry to board
The Lloyd’s Market Association (LMA) has appointed Nick Moore, chief executive officer of Argenta, and Vinay Mistry, chief commercial operations officer of Apollo, to its board.
Their appointments follow the conclusion of the board terms of Alex Powell, chief executive officer of AEGIS London, and Andrew Brooks, non-executive director of Ascot Group, who have both stepped down.
The LMA board is responsible for setting the association’s overall strategy, direction and priorities, and comprises senior market practitioners alongside LMA leadership.
Markel strengthens PI claims team with Major appointment
Markel Insurance, the insurance operation within Markel Group Inc., has appointed Charlotte Major as senior claims adjuster – professional indemnity, effective immediately.
Based in Markel’s London office, Major will report to Rachel Tighe, claims manager – PI at Markel International. In her new role, she will handle complex professional indemnity claims across multiple professions, including accountancy, construction and insurance broking.
Major will work closely with Markel’s PI underwriting team on renewals, providing input on claims scenarios, contract and policy wordings, and claims data. Her remit also includes collaborating with managing agents and service providers across multiple jurisdictions, mentoring claims handlers, and developing broker relationships.
Pinpoint UK names Harding managing director of UK enterprises
AM Specialty Insurance Group has appointed Joe Harding as managing director of UK enterprises at Pinpoint UK.
Harding will lead Pinpoint UK’s enterprise-focused underwriting strategy, support the development of scalable specialty insurance solutions, and oversee broker and client relationships across the UK market.
He brings approximately 15 years of London Market underwriting experience, joining from Aspen Insurance Group, where he most recently served as an underwriter. Prior to that, Harding spent more than seven years at Allied World in roles including underwriter, senior underwriter and assistant vice president within the commercial division. He began his career at Gravity Underwriting Ltd.
