UK Insurance Market Sees Three Senior Leadership Appointments

Three significant senior appointments have been announced across the UK insurance market, reflecting ongoing investment in leadership and digital capabilities.

RSA bolsters e-Trade leadership
RSA, part of Intact Financial Corporation, has promoted Becky Henry to vice president, eTrade, for its UK Commercial Lines business. In her new role, Henry will oversee all SME electronically traded products and propositions.

Henry, who has been with RSA for 26 years, most recently served as commercial lines trading & operations director. Her promotion comes as RSA continues to expand its e-trading capabilities, positioning the channel as a key driver of growth ahead of its rebrand to Intact Insurance later this year. The insurer sees digital trading as central to enhancing broker services, broadening product offerings, and staying competitive in a market increasingly focused on speed and ease of access.

Open GI strengthens product strategy
Insurance technology provider Open GI has appointed Phil Evans to the newly created role of product director. He will be responsible for aligning Open GI’s product portfolio with evolving customer needs, while identifying new opportunities in the fast-moving insurtech landscape.

Evans joins from Applied Systems, where he spent six years building and leading its European product team. He previously held senior engineering and leadership roles at SSP, focusing on rating services, APIs, and insurer integrations. In addition, he is a member of the Insurtech UK advisory panel, where he helps support firms expanding into North American markets.

The appointment highlights Open GI’s ambition to strengthen its position as a specialist technology partner to insurers and brokers, amid accelerating investment in digital distribution and data-driven solutions across the sector.

McGill and Partners appoints new CFO
Specialist broker McGill and Partners has named Mike Reynolds as group chief financial officer, subject to regulatory approval. Reynolds previously served as group CEO of Oneglobal and brings nearly 30 years of experience, including senior leadership positions at JLT Re, JLT Group, ACE Europe, and Aon Benfield.

Since its launch in 2019 with backing from Warburg Pincus, McGill and Partners has recorded compound annual growth of more than 20% over the past three years, entirely organically. Reynolds’ appointment comes as the firm looks to build on its rapid growth and reinforce its position in the specialty market. He will succeed Dominic Mignon, who will step down next year after three years as CFO.
