Willis, a WTW business, has established a specialised residential real estate team within its real estate practice, marking a strategic expansion of its property sector operations.
The newly formed unit will focus on key residential segments, including build-to-rent (BTR), student accommodation, ground rent investments, managing agents, retirement living, property investment, and right-to-manage entities.
The team will be jointly led by Naomi Palmer, Divisional Director, and Shaun Grainger, Residential Development Director, within the real estate practice. Palmer brings over 12 years of industry experience, specialising in large-scale residential insurance programmes and operational delivery. Grainger, who recently joined WTW, has two decades of experience in real estate sales, working closely with clients and advisers across the sector.
Supporting the team is Mike Marrill, who takes on the role of Claims Executive. Marrill will focus on handling residential property-related claims, with his appointment aimed at enhancing claims capabilities and ensuring continuity of service for clients.
This development complements recent senior appointments across the practice, including Lauren McKay and Liam Hebron as Directors in London, and Craig Johnson as Executive Director in Manchester.
The expansion underscores WTW’s broader commitment to serving a diverse client base. The real estate practice now supports a wide range of stakeholders, including real estate investment trusts (REITs), private equity real estate (PERE) firms, pension funds, asset and investment managers, and private landlords.
