WTW Strengthens Global Cyber Capacity

Willis, a WTW business and global insurance broker, has announced the expansion of its cyber risk facility, CyXS, significantly increasing its available capacity. Through Lloyd’s syndicates, CyXS now offers coverage of up to USD/GBP/EUR 115 million, with an additional USD/GBP/EUR 40 million secured from sources outside the Lloyd’s market.

This expansion introduces two new segments: CyXS Plus and CyXS Company, each contributing an additional USD/GBP/EUR 40 million in coverage capacity. Notably, CyXS Company allows participation from non-Lloyd’s capital sources while maintaining centralized underwriting oversight. According to Willis, this structure makes CyXS Company the largest cyber insurance facility of its kind outside of the Lloyd’s market.

With these new offerings, the CyXS platform now has the backing of 25 insurers, strengthening its position as a leading provider of cyber risk solutions.

This development aligns with WTW’s strategic efforts to enhance its cyber insurance offerings. Earlier this year, in January 2025, the company launched CyCore Asia, a dedicated cyber insurance facility designed to serve businesses in Singapore and Hong Kong. CyCore Asia provides primary insurance capacity of up to USD 15 million and includes a risk bursary for cyber risk management services, addressing the region’s growing cybersecurity challenges.

The expansion of CyXS comes at a critical time when the demand for cyber risk solutions is escalating. The increasing frequency and sophistication of cyberattacks pose significant threats to organizations worldwide, with global cybercrime projected to reach USD 10.5 trillion annually. By broadening its cyber insurance capabilities, Willis aims to provide businesses with more robust protection against these evolving digital threats.
