Zurich UK has announced the appointment of Georgina Fleet as its new head of UK compliance, a role that also sees her join the company’s UK executive committee.
Fleet succeeds Hilary Bates, who transitions to Cover-More, Zurich’s specialist travel insurance business, where she will serve as global operations and transformation leader.
Having joined Zurich in 2020 as head of legal transactions, Fleet brings extensive legal and compliance experience to her new position. Before joining Zurich, she led the legal team at Legal & General and previously worked as a senior associate at Pinsent Masons.
Strengthening global technology and digital leadership
Fleet’s appointment comes as Zurich continues to enhance its global leadership capabilities, particularly in technology and digital transformation. The insurer recently named Terry Powell as group chief technology officer and Cristina Ghetti as group head of digital employee experience.
Powell joins Zurich from ANZ Bank, bringing a strong track record in IT transformation and cloud adoption. His previous roles include leading global IT centralisation and digital initiatives at Domino’s Pizza and serving as general manager for insurance technology at Suncorp Group, where he focused on modernising core insurance systems.
Ghetti, formerly with Nestlé, has led large-scale digital transformation projects, including the company’s largest AI-tool rollout and the integration of GPT-based solutions to enhance internal operations. She also oversaw a multi-year digital roadmap and post-merger IT integration at Coca-Cola European Partners. In her new role, Ghetti will focus on AI upskilling initiatives and driving the adoption of AI technologies to improve productivity across Zurich’s global operations.
