QBE North America appointed Dan Fortin and Todd Greeley as the heads of its financial lines business. They both were former underwriters in Berkshire Hathaway Specialty Insurance Inc.
QBE NA said that it aims to expand its Management Liability, Professional Liability, and Transactional Liability practices with the new hires.
As per the statements released by QBE regarding the announcements, Mr. Fortin will be president, financial lines for the New York-based unit of QBE Insurance Group Ltd., and Mr. Greeley will be the chief operating officer of the division.
Fortin has held a variety of financial lines senior leadership roles at BHSI and CNA Financial during his career. He was also a managing director for Aon Financial Services Group. He holds a bachelor’s degree from Villanova University and a master’s degree from Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management.
Greeley was previously a senior vice president, Executive & Professional Lines, at BHSI. Before that, he led the financial lines to assert group at CNA Financial for over 10 years. Before joining the insurance industry, Greeley was an attorney in private practice in New York, with a commercial litigation focus representing executives, as well as financial line insurers. He also served as an assistant district attorney within the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office for five years.
