Grange Insurance Company has announced the promotion of Mike Hickman to the position of vice president, national underwriting and business operations.
In his new role, Hickman will join the commercial lines leadership team, where he will focus on enhancing operational efficiencies and refining underwriting processes to drive sustainable growth for the company. He will oversee two critical areas: national underwriting, encompassing specialty underwriting, small business underwriting, and technical underwriting consulting; and business operations, which includes risk control, premium audit, and other essential support services.
Hickman has been with Grange since 2018, previously serving as assistant vice president of commercial underwriting services. In that role, he successfully streamlined underwriting services and led key functions within the commercial lines division, including small business, underwriting consulting, risk control, premium audit, and operations.
Before joining Grange, Hickman held various leadership positions at Nationwide, where he specialized in commercial underwriting, product development, and middle-market business initiatives. He holds a bachelor’s degree from Liberty University.
This announcement follows another key leadership change at Grange. In November, the company named Nicole Carter as vice president of personal lines sales and strategic distribution. Carter assumed the expanded role after more than two years of leading the development and execution of Grange’s strategic distribution roadmap.
These leadership appointments underscore Grange Insurance Company’s commitment to strengthening its operational capabilities and fostering innovation to support its growth objectives.
