A series of significant leadership appointments and promotions have been announced across the UK insurance sector, reflecting continued investment in talent and digital transformation.
DUAL UK Strengthens Regional Presence
DUAL UK has expanded its regional leadership team with the appointment of Stephen Davis as Regional Manager for the Midlands and South West, and Jayne Sprigg as Business Development Manager for the Midlands.
Davis brings over 25 years of industry experience, including senior roles at RSA and Zurich, and will lead DUAL’s regional growth strategy focused on SMEs and mid-market clients. Sprigg, who joined in May, adds deep expertise in underwriting and business development from previous roles at Aviva and Allianz.
AIG UK CEO Joins London Market Group Board
Chris Rash, CEO of AIG UK since March 2025, has been appointed to the board of the London Market Group (LMG) as the International Underwriting Association representative. Rash’s leadership background spans Talbot Underwriting, Starstone, and RSA.
LMG Chair Sean McGovern welcomed the appointment, citing Rash’s experience as an asset in enhancing London’s standing as a global insurance hub.
Mosaic Insurance Expands Cyber Division Leadership
Mosaic Insurance has elevated Yosha DeLong to the role of Global Engagement Officer. A founding leader of Mosaic’s cyber division since 2021, DeLong will now focus on accelerating growth and market engagement across the company’s business lines.
In addition, Brian Bonkoski will join the firm in June as Global Head of Cyber. Based in Philadelphia, Bonkoski brings two decades of underwriting and distribution leadership from Chubb and AIG, and will oversee cyber product development and global distribution.
Allianz UK Appoints Chief Data Officer
Akhil Lalwani has been named Chief Data Officer at Allianz UK, where he will head the centralised Data Centre of Excellence. His responsibilities include leading data strategy, governance, architecture, engineering, and business intelligence.
Lalwani’s prior roles at Convex Insurance and Prudential focused on leveraging data platforms to drive digital growth and enhance customer experience. Allianz aims to harness his leadership to fuel innovation and advance its data-driven strategy.
IUA Launches Role to Support Emerging Talent
The International Underwriting Association (IUA) has introduced a new role under its ‘IUA Futures’ initiative to support early-career professionals in the London insurance market. Ela Metalia will lead the programme, which aims to deliver networking, training, and educational opportunities for practitioners in their first five years.
Westfield Specialty International Names Chief Actuary
Amerjit Grewal has joined Westfield Specialty International as Chief Actuary. Previously Deputy Chief Actuary at AEGIS London, Grewal will oversee key functions including reserving, pricing, capital management, and strategic risk assessment.
Verisk Appoints Chief Digital Officer
Paul Latarche has returned to Verisk Specialty Business Solutions as Chief Digital Officer. In this role, he will lead digital strategy initiatives across the UK and international markets, with a focus on expanding Whitespace, Verisk’s digital platform for re/insurance brokers and underwriters.
Latarche previously held senior positions at Swiss Re and was a co-founder of Rulebook, an insurance technology platform later acquired by Verisk. His return is seen as pivotal in driving digital innovation and global growth.
