Insurance Sector Sees Senior Appointments And Governance Changes This Week

Senior appointments and governance developments this week highlight important changes across global broking network leadership, compliance advisory, cyber underwriting and specialty claims.

Brokerslink expands board to 10 members following private placement

Brokerslink has increased the size of its board of directors from eight to 10 members following the completion of a private placement in June 2026, further expanding the network’s shareholder base.

Consistent with Brokerslink’s shareholder-led governance structure, three new directors were elected at the network’s recent general assembly. They are Ágnes Bara, deputy chief executive of Hungary-based Hungarikum Insurance Broker; Youness Rhallam, a board member of Morocco’s Alpha Assurances; and Patrick Verlinden, chief executive of Belgium-based Van Dessel.

Rhallam and Verlinden are already familiar figures within the network’s governance structure. Both previously served as president and vice-president, respectively, of Brokerslink’s separate advisory board, a consultative body that operates independently from the board of directors. Their appointments therefore represent a progression of their existing involvement with the network.

José Manuel Fonseca was re-elected as president and chief executive. Gregory Allard, chief executive of France’s Filhet-Allard, and Alexandra Littlejohn, executive vice president and senior managing director at US-based Alliant Insurance Services, were elected as vice presidents. Littlejohn’s appointment to the board replaces Jamie Crystal as Alliant’s nominated representative.

For independent brokers considering membership of a global network, as well as existing Brokerslink members, the board changes provide an indication of the network’s evolving geographic representation and priorities.

The addition of directors from Hungary, Morocco and Belgium, combined with the expanded shareholder base following the private placement, suggests a strengthening of Brokerslink’s presence across Central Europe, North Africa and continental Europe. For independent brokers operating in these markets, this could translate into greater opportunities for network support, introductions and access to shared resources.

Existing member brokers should also keep in mind that board representation linked to individual shareholder firms can change without necessarily altering the underlying commercial relationship. A change in board representation, therefore, should not automatically be interpreted as a strategic shift by the shareholder firm itself.

Pro Global appoints Jessica Robinson to compliance advisory role

Pro Global has appointed Jessica Robinson as senior compliance consultant within its global audit and advisory practice, strengthening the company’s compliance advisory and assurance capabilities.

Robinson brings more than 15 years of experience in insurance compliance, covering regulatory compliance, conduct risk and operational matters. Her previous positions include roles at UKGI and Hastings Direct. She is also a board member and investor in ONO, a specialist fleet incident management business.

The appointment represents a return to Pro Global for Robinson, who previously worked for the company as a compliance consultant earlier in her career.

In her new position, Robinson will work with clients across Pro Global’s audit and advisory practice. Her responsibilities will include assessing conduct risk, evaluating the effectiveness of compliance frameworks, identifying potential weaknesses at an early stage and helping clients translate regulatory requirements into practical controls.

Her focus on effective AI oversight is particularly relevant to the insurance sector as insurers and MGAs increasingly introduce AI-supported underwriting and claims solutions. For brokers, working with carriers that can demonstrate meaningful human oversight of AI systems may help reduce the risk of regulatory issues that could ultimately affect customer service or claims handling.

MS Amlin adds senior cyber underwriting expertise

MS Amlin has appointed Alex Jomaa as head of cyber and Monica Tigleanu as lead underwriter as the insurer seeks to expand its direct cyber insurance portfolio.

Jomaa joins MS Amlin from Onda AI, a cyber insurance MGA, where he served as chief underwriting officer and founding executive. Earlier in his career, he held cyber underwriting positions at Tokio Marine Kiln and CFC Underwriting.

Tigleanu joins from BMS Group, where she was cyber strategy director. Her previous experience includes senior cyber underwriting and broking positions at Munich Re Syndicate, Marsh Specialty, Beazley and AIG.

The appointments bring significant cyber underwriting and broking experience to MS Amlin. The addition of a head of cyber and a lead underwriter with backgrounds spanning established insurance and broking businesses indicates that the insurer is looking to strengthen its position in the direct cyber market.

For brokers that have previously viewed MS Amlin’s cyber offering as being focused on specific coverholder arrangements, the appointments could signal an expansion of direct market access and potentially broader cyber risk appetite.

That could provide brokers with another established market to consider when seeking capacity for standalone cyber placements, alongside the more established cyber insurance markets.

Rokstone strengthens complex claims team with Sam James appointment

Rokstone has appointed Sam James as head of complex claims, following her notice period at Convex, where she most recently served as technical head of claims.

James brings more than 25 years of experience in managing complex and high-value claims. Her career includes seven years at Convex and 10 years at Catlin, where she served as head of casualty claims.

The appointment follows a broader pattern of senior recruitment from Convex at Rokstone, including the hiring of casualty underwriters from the same organisation over the past year as the MGA continues to expand its specialty underwriting platform.

James combines legal qualifications with extensive experience as a claims professional across Convex and Catlin. Her appointment gives brokers placing complex or high-value risks with Rokstone access to a senior escalation point for challenging or disputed claims.

This is particularly relevant for large and technically complex placements, where the quality and handling of a claims outcome can have a significant impact on the broker’s relationship with its client.

Brokers with existing Rokstone placements may wish to confirm whether James’s appointment changes their existing claims contact arrangements.
