Velatir, a Danish AI infrastructure company focused on helping organisations monitor, protect and manage the use of AI tools across their workforce, has reportedly secured €5 million in seed funding.
The funding round was co-led by Nordic venture capital firm Spintop Ventures and Danish investor Ugly Duckling Ventures, according to a report by Sifted. Existing investor Norrsken Evolve also participated in the round, alongside new backers including n8n CEO Jan Oberhauser, former Universal Robots CEO Thomas Visti, and the Export and Investment Fund of Denmark.
Velatir’s approach is based on the view that AI adoption is not primarily a technology challenge for most businesses, but rather an issue of permissions, ownership and visibility. As employees increasingly experiment with AI tools, usage can spread across an organisation without clear oversight. This can make it difficult for businesses to determine who is responsible for AI adoption, which tools should be approved and how successful pilot projects should progress.
Velatir aims to address these challenges by providing organisations with a comprehensive view of how AI is being used across their businesses. The platform incorporates security into everyday workflows instead of relying solely on internal policy documents, while also providing guidance intended to help employees use AI tools more effectively and confidently.
The company says its platform is built on European infrastructure and is ISO 27001 certified. It is also designed to be deployed within minutes, allowing organisations to establish oversight of AI usage without lengthy implementation processes.
The platform operates through a framework of specialised agents designed to guide AI interactions, protect sensitive information and provide organisations with visibility across their workspaces.
Velatir says each AI interaction is anonymised, logged and presented through a central dashboard. The system separates free and paid AI usage, allowing companies to identify where AI-related spending is coming from, find overlapping subscriptions and allocate budgets based on actual usage rather than estimates.
One of the platform’s key components is its Gatekeeper agent, which provides organisations with a central control point for determining which AI services employees can access. Its Data Protector agent, meanwhile, is designed to identify and intercept sensitive information before it can leave the company’s environment.
Through these capabilities, Velatir is positioning its platform as an infrastructure layer for organisations seeking greater visibility, security and control as AI adoption expands across the workplace.
