Cyera Raises $400M For AI Agent Security

Cyera, a data security company focused on building a unified data and identity platform for enterprises, has raised $400 million from Goldman Sachs to help businesses strengthen control over the data and systems accessible to AI agents.

The investment was provided by the Growth Equity business of Goldman Sachs Alternatives as an extension of Cyera’s Series G funding round, which was led by Evolution Equity. The new capital will support Cyera’s efforts to provide a single platform for managing access across human users, machines and AI agents operating within enterprises.

The company plans to invest the funding in new capabilities included in its AI Security product roadmap. Cyera also intends to increase its presence in the federal market and expand its international operations across EMEA and APAC, where organizations are increasingly seeking greater visibility and control over AI agents.

The investment comes as AI agents become more involved in enterprise operations. Unlike traditional software applications, AI agents can reason, operate under different identities, access tools, interact with sensitive data and independently perform tasks at machine speed. While broader access can make these agents more useful, it can also increase security risks when access is compromised or no longer aligns with an organization’s intended controls.

Cyera says AI agents are becoming one of the fastest-growing security concerns for enterprises. Traditional security systems were largely built around human users and applications, rather than large numbers of autonomous digital actors. The company believes enterprises adopting agent-based AI therefore need a security approach that connects data protection with identity and access management.

Cyera initially focused on securing enterprise data and has expanded its capabilities to protect the AI agents that interact with that data. Its Agent Guardian and Cyera Endpoint products provide organizations with greater visibility into AI agent activity and help establish accountability for their actions. The products monitor prompts and responses, along with tool calls, database queries and other actions performed by agents.

This visibility extends from cloud environments to endpoint devices, where local AI agents such as Claude Code and Cursor are increasingly being used for tasks that may involve sensitive information.

Cyera has also acquired Oasis Security, bringing non-human identity (NHI) management into its broader security platform. The combined capabilities connect information about where sensitive data is stored with details about which users, machines or AI agents are able to access it.

Through this approach, Cyera aims to give enterprises a centralized way to manage and govern access across human and non-human identities, including AI agents.

Cyera is currently valued at more than $12 billion. Its investors include Accel, Blackstone, Cyberstarts, Georgian, Lightspeed and Sequoia.
