The insurance industry’s mergers and acquisition race has continued at pace during the first weeks of 2022, and now Specialist Risk Group has joined the leading pack.
The group has today announced an agreement to acquire the Special Risks team from Bridge Insurance, based in London.
Led by David Walker and Jonathan Starkey, the line-up is said to have vast expertise across insurance programmes for businesses that operate in territories impacted by conflicts – such as mine clearance, disaster recovery and humanitarian assistance. Now they will join the Special Risks team at SRG, which is led by Cliff Butters.
“The team epitomise all that we stand for at SRG. They have deep specialist knowledge built over many years and I am thrilled that they are joining us at such an exciting time in our journey,” said Lee Anderson, SRG deputy CEO.
“Bridge has been respected long-term trading partners of SRG, so we are delighted to work with them on this and other strategic opportunities in the future.”
Meanwhile, Bridge CEO Roger Potts noted the long-standing relationship between the firms.
“We have worked jointly on many clients in this, and other, business sectors,” he said. “We look forward to continuing this relationship and working with Lee and his colleagues as we jointly develop new growth opportunities and client solutions.”
