JM Glendinning Phrases Governing Director For Professional Risks Industry

JM Glendinning Insurance Brokers, part of JMG Group, has elevated Gareth Milner (pictured) to serve as governing director of the company’s professional risks business.

Succeeding founding MD Jake Fox, Milner is moving on from his role as client director. His ancestor became group managing director of JM Glendinning late last year.

“I’m inheriting a fantastic industry at an exciting time for both our team and the wider JMG Group,” said Milner, who has been with the skilled risks unit since January 2020. “It’s a privilege to take on the responsibility and ensure we proceed to provide best-in-class service to all of our clients and broaden our footprint.

“JMG is a great place to work, and I plan to maintain that civilization as the professional risks business evolves. Clients join and stay with us because of our people, so I want to keep attracting the best talent in our business and give great colleagues the sovereignty, career progression, and opportunities they deserve.”

The professional risks industry places £15 million in premiums and is manned by 10 people in Yorkshire and the Midlands. With Milner at the helm, the plan is to expand the business geographically and double its size over the next five years.

“Gareth has the vision, hunger, and passion to drive this business forward, which shone through in the rigorous recruitment procedure of internal and external candidates,” remarked Fox. “Both I and the JMG Group board have huge confidence that Gareth will lead the business to future achievement.

“Gareth’s promotion is great news for us and clients and indicates that opportunities are there for our workers should they wish to seek them. I wish him every success in his new role.”

Milner’s certificates span time spent at Aon, Jardine Lloyd Thompson, Marsh, and PIB Group.
