Carlisle-based RAW Insurance Brokers is unlocking a south Cumbria office later this year and has called the person to lead the unit.
Three-decade business veteran Russell Linton has united the business to head the operations in Kendal, South Lakes, Ulverston, and Barrow. The key hire started his insurance career in 1989 at Provincial before shifting to Talbot Insurance Brokers, which became part of Marsh.
“Having lived and worked in Kendal and south Cumbria all my life, customers know that I understand the area and the local economy,” said Linton, who specialises in retail insurance. “They know I’m here to help and advise them, and that I’m apparent and contactable.
“Joining RAW was a great opportunity to take on a fresh challenge and be part of something new and sensational. Insurance can be seen as a dry issue but it’s about people, which is what I love about it. I enjoy working with customers, learning about their businesses, and finding them the right insurance.”
He said it’s about existing there for clients if and when they need you, helping them as their business grows and develops.
Remarking on the appointment, director Stephen Ward stated: “Russell’s experience in the industry and his people-first strategy fits flawlessly with the way we work. We feel it’s important that we deliver the best service to our clients, while also establishing a relaxed, friendly environment where we know clients by name, not policy numbers.
“Russell is ideally placed to lead the growth of RAW Insurance in south Cumbria.”
Co-founded by Ward and Ryan Roberts in 2018, RAW Insurance Brokers services more than 500 clients. They are united in the photo by Linton and account handlers Shoanna Muirhead and Christine Thorburn.
