Allianz Consolidates Renewable Energy Team

Allianz Engineering, Construction & Power (Allianz EC&P) has reduced all its renewable energy experts to a single team.

The insurer said in a release that the “cross-regional team of local underwriters” will service brokers and customers in the renewable energy sector. By putting all the experts into a single hub, Allianz hopes to add useful expertise, resilience, and scale to its operations, while enhancing the company’s interchanges with its brokers.

Allianz also noted that the new structure will complement its expert-led model, wherein underwriters are specialists instead of generalists.

“We believe this will best service the needs of our existing and future consumers and enable us to fulfill our growth ambitions,” said Allianz EC&P head of customer and distribution Jonathan Oldfield. “We have the expertise, and we are looking forward to working even more closely with our broker partners to facilitate our customers to benefit from it.”

In a company release, Allianz stated that it is the first insurance constituent of Solar Energy UK, and is committed to supporting net zero growth by offering risk transfer solutions and services in the renewable energy space.

Last week, Allianz named Graham Stait as the regional manager of the Midlands, and Southwest, commercial regions. Strait previously served as Allianz’s head of claims operations and was a constituent of the Allianz Claims Management Committee.
