Ardonagh Advisory has strengthened its position in the North with the acquisition of Anderson & Co (Holdings) Limited (ACH) and its wholly owned subsidiary, Anderson & Co (Insurance Brokers) Limited (ACIB).
Founded over 50 years ago, Anderson & Co is a well-established Blackpool-based brokerage specializing in both commercial and personal insurance lines. The company, acquired by Christine McLellan in 1993, has earned a strong reputation for its commitment to client service and expertise in the sector.
As part of the agreement, McLellan will continue to serve as managing director, ensuring continuity in leadership and operations. The Anderson & Co team will integrate into the North division of Ardonagh Advisory General Insurance (GI) Broking, reporting to Stephen Boyd, North Divisional Managing Director.
This strategic acquisition further enhances Ardonagh Advisory’s footprint in the North by bringing an experienced and respected brokerage into its expanding portfolio.
Expanding Through Strategic M&A
The acquisition of Anderson & Co is the latest in a series of strategic mergers and acquisitions by Ardonagh Advisory. Last August, the company announced its agreement to acquire RK Henshall & Co Limited, a chartered insurance broker based in Cheshire.
Additional acquisitions in the past year have included Southport Insurance Brokers Limited, which bolstered Ardonagh’s commercial insurance presence, and Westfield Brokers, expanding its commercial brokerage operations.
The financial terms of the Anderson & Co acquisition have not been disclosed.
With its continued focus on strategic growth, Ardonagh Advisory remains committed to strengthening its market position through targeted acquisitions and integration of established brokerages into its network.
