With over a decade of invaluable experience, Smith, currently based in Canada, assumes this crucial role, poised to lead the accounting function and contribute his expertise to both the internal team and esteemed clients.
Hailing from Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island, Smith earned his Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting from the University of Prince Edward Island in 2013. Following this, he obtained certification as a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA, CA) in 2014, marking the inception of his remarkable professional journey. Smith commenced his career at Grant Thornton, a renowned top-five accounting firm, where he laid the foundation of his expertise.
In 2016, Smith made a strategic move to the Cayman Islands, expanding his proficiency across diverse sectors, including insurance, private equity, and professional services. His return to Canada in 2020 marked a continuation of his illustrious career in the accounting realm.

Blue Ocean, which officially launched its MGA platform in February of this year, is led by CEO Adrian Lynch, who champions its mission to provide comprehensive support services to reinsurance companies entering the Cayman market, along with complex captive insurers.
