Clear Group Acquires Moore Robinson To Strengthen UK Retail Operations

The Clear Group has announced the acquisition of Moore Robinson Ltd, a London-based independent insurance broker, as part of its strategic plan to expand its UK retail division.

Established in 1987, Moore Robinson brings a wealth of expertise in arranging and managing insurance for property portfolios and construction projects. Its client base includes property investors, developers, managing agents, and high-net-worth individuals.

As part of the deal, founder Robin Moore and his team will join Clear’s corporate division. Moore Robinson’s clients will benefit from access to Clear Group’s insurer partnerships and a wider range of specialist schemes and facilities.

Strategic Expansion Through Acquisitions

This latest acquisition adds to a series of strategic transactions that have significantly expanded Clear Group’s presence in the UK insurance market.

In October 2024, the company acquired A-One Insurance Group, a prominent commercial insurance broker in southern England. Founded in 1993, A-One operates across seven offices with more than 150 employees and manages over £50 million in premiums. This transaction marked Clear’s largest retail broker acquisition to date.

In the same month, Clear Group entered the Lloyd’s wholesale market with the acquisition of Lilley Plummer Risks Ltd., a London-based marine and property specialist. The move added approximately £150 million in gross written premium to Clear’s portfolio and strengthened its wholesale capabilities.

For the fiscal year ending October 31, 2023, The Clear Group reported a revenue of £74.7 million, reflecting a 31.7% increase from the previous year’s £56.7 million. During the same period, the company’s EBITDA rose by an impressive 33.4%.
