Discern Security Raises $13 Million In Series A Funding Round

Discern Security, a cybersecurity company specialising in agent-driven optimisation of security controls, has announced the successful completion of a $13 million Series A funding round.

The investment was led by Forgepoint Capital, with participation from First Rays Ventures, Growth Enjin Partners, Vela Ventures, and several angel investors. The newly raised capital will support the accelerated development and market adoption of the Discern Security Loop, the company’s AI-powered platform designed to help organisations continuously evaluate and strengthen their existing security controls.

The funding comes at a time when security teams are facing an increasing volume of cybersecurity tools, alerts, and vulnerability findings. While artificial intelligence has improved the speed at which organisations can detect security issues, the growing number of alerts has created new operational challenges for already overburdened security teams. Discern Security believes organisations need AI solutions that enhance human expertise rather than replace it.

The company’s AI-native security workspace consolidates security data from across an organisation’s technology environment to power its Security Loop platform.

Using a combination of reusable AI Skills, intelligent agents, and human-approved workflows, the platform identifies critical security control gaps, prioritises remediation efforts based on business context, and coordinates actions across security, IT, and compliance teams. Each assessment cycle is designed to strengthen an organisation’s cybersecurity posture while providing measurable evidence of ongoing security improvements.

Rather than simply generating alerts or support tickets, the platform connects security findings with the relevant controls, assets, and compliance requirements. This enables organisations to automate repetitive analysis tasks and transform complex technical findings into executive-level reports aligned with recognised frameworks such as MITRE ATT&CK.

Following the investment, Discern Security plans to expand its engineering and product development teams, enhance its portfolio of AI Skills and autonomous capabilities, and continue its mission of transforming cybersecurity from a reactive operational function into a measurable business value driver.
