Fidelis Insurance, a global specialty re/insurer, has announced the appointment of Jason Kittinger as its new Group Chief Operating Officer (COO).
Kittinger has over 20 years of experience in the insurance industry. Before joining Fidelis, he held various senior roles at Arch Insurance International, including chief operating officer and chief financial officer.
He also served on boards at Arch in the UK, Ireland, and Australia. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Samford University and is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA).
Based in London, Kittinger will report directly to Dan Burrows, CEO of Fidelis Insurance Group, and will join the company’s senior leadership team. His primary responsibilities will include enhancing operational efficiency and driving performance improvements across the group.
CEO Dan Burrows also took the opportunity to recognize the significant contributions of Denise Brown-Brach, who has held the dual roles of UK CEO and Group COO since 2023. With Kittinger’s appointment, Brown-Brach will now concentrate solely on her position as UK CEO.
Kittinger will be responsible for improving operational efficiency and driving performance improvements across the Fidelis Insurance Group, aspects that the firm hopes to improve.
It is worth noting that last month, the re/insurance group noted a steep decline in net income compared to the same period last year.
The company reported a net income, as of June 30, 2024, of $53.7 million from April to June this year, compared to $83.9 million recorded in the same period last year. This number equates to $0.46 per diluted common share and operating net income of $63.0 million, or $0.54 per diluted common share.
Fidelis Insurance Group, headquartered in Bermuda, operates offices in Ireland and the UK. The company’s operating subsidiaries maintain strong financial ratings, including an “A” rating from AM Best, “A-” from S&P, and “A3” from Moody’s.
