Global reinsurance broker Gallagher Re has promoted April Engelman to the position of Chief Operating Officer for its North American region. Engelman, previously the Executive Vice President and Operations Director for North America, will now oversee operations in her new role.

Who is April Engelman?
Engelman began her career at Willis Re as an account analyst. Over the years, she advanced to treaty analyst, then business process manager, and eventually became Senior Vice President, Regional Operations Manager – Midwest. In 2021, following Gallagher Re’s acquisition of Willis Re, Engelman joined Gallagher Re as Executive Vice President and North America Operations Director. She played a key role in ensuring a seamless transition between the two firms.
Engelman succeeds Mark Hansen, who has been promoted to Gallagher Re’s Chief Operating Officer. Engelman’s promotion is effective immediately, and she will report directly to Flasinski from her base in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
