GEICO, a subsidiary of Berkshire Hathaway, is strengthening its footprint in Florida and North Texas with the addition of more than 2,000 jobs. The insurance giant is opening new offices in Tampa and Richardson to enhance customer service and operational capabilities in these key regions.
Major Expansion in Tampa to Create 1,000+ Jobs
GEICO is set to open a new campus in Tampa, marking its third location in Florida alongside existing offices in Jacksonville and Lakeland. This expansion will generate over 1,000 jobs, providing opportunities in sales, customer service, and claims processing roles.
The new 190,000-square-foot facility, strategically located near Tampa International Airport, will serve as a hub for GEICO’s growing workforce. Hiring is expected to commence in April, reinforcing the company’s commitment to expanding its services in Florida.
Second Office in Richardson to Bolster North Texas Operations
In North Texas, GEICO is expanding its presence in Richardson by opening a second office. This move follows the company’s previous announcement in December 2024 of 500 new positions. With this latest development, GEICO’s total job creation in the region will surpass 1,500 roles.
The upcoming 165,000-square-foot office, scheduled to open in fall 2025, will support the company’s sales, service, and claims operations. Upon completion, GEICO will occupy nearly 400,000 square feet of office space across its two Richardson locations, further solidifying the city as a key hub for the company’s commercial insurance operations.
