Generali Global Corporate & Commercial (GC&C) has named Michela Moro as its new head of cyber insurance.
Her tenure began on December 16, succeeding Massimo Orsini, who recently retired from the role.
With over 15 years of experience in the insurance industry, Moro is recognized for her deep understanding of corporate and commercial client needs. Her career spans a range of international and cross-functional roles, equipping her with expertise in portfolio development and identifying growth opportunities in the cyber insurance sector.
Before joining Generali GC&C, Moro held senior roles in the insurance industry, including her most recent position as regional head of cyber at Allianz Commercial. She holds a bachelor’s degree in International Economics and Management from Università Bocconi in Milan.
Commenting on the appointment, Carlos Gomez, head of insurance at GC&C, praised Moro’s strong track record and management capabilities.
The company emphasized that this strategic appointment reflects its commitment to strengthening its cyber insurance capabilities, a rapidly growing focus area for corporate clients.
This announcement follows Generali’s robust financial performance for the first nine months of 2024. The group reported an 18.1% increase in gross written premiums, reaching €70.7 billion. Growth was driven by strong results across its life and property & casualty (P&C) divisions. Net inflows in the life segment totaled €6.8 billion, with contributions exclusively from protection and unit-linked products, aligning with Generali’s strategic priorities.
Generali GC&C continues to position itself as a leader in addressing emerging risks, with a clear focus on innovation and client-centric solutions.
