Global Insurers Announce Senior Leadership Appointments

Three international insurers have announced key leadership appointments across their operations in London, Paris and the Benelux region, strengthening expertise in fine art and specie, claims management, and regional leadership.

Markel appoints head of fine art and specie

Markel Insurance, the insurance division of Markel Group, has appointed Danny O’Donoghue as head of fine art and specie with immediate effect.

Based in London, O’Donoghue will oversee the continued growth of Markel’s fine art and specie portfolio. His underwriting responsibilities will cover fine art, specie, jewellers block and cash in transit. He will also play a role in supporting the development of underwriting talent within the team.

In addition to underwriting oversight, O’Donoghue will work closely with brokers and collaborate with Markel’s claims and actuarial teams to ensure coverage remains aligned with changing market conditions. He will also focus on identifying international growth opportunities in partnership with Markel’s global fine art and specie teams.

He reports to Dan McCarthy, director of marine at Markel International.

Operating from Paris, Jephos will manage the company’s claims portfolio across France, including cyber, casualty and executive assurance lines. She will report to Ray Graham, head of claims for Arch Insurance EU.

Jephos joins from Beazley, where she previously served as claims manager. Prior to that, she held claims-related roles at AIG. Before entering the insurance sector, she worked as a litigation lawyer in Paris and brings more than a decade of industry experience.
