Hub International Introduces New North American Commercial lines President

Hub International Limited (HUB) has appointed Tim DeSett as President of its North American Commercial Lines division. In his new role, DeSett will drive HUB’s strategy for its commercial lines segment, which contributes nearly 50% of the company’s total revenue, with a focus on fostering organic growth.

DeSett will work closely with HUB’s executive team, business segments, and resource leaders to advance initiatives across key areas, including industry specializations, product lines, complex risk management, and middle-market businesses. His role is centered on unifying HUB’s capabilities to deliver enhanced service value to clients.

DeSett will report directly to Chris Treanor, HUB’s President of Programs & Specialties, who emphasized the strategic importance of this appointment in strengthening HUB’s specialized commercial lines practice.

DeSett joins HUB with over three decades of experience in the insurance industry. His previous role was as executive vice president at Lockton, where he oversaw an $850 million global operation. This position involved managing risk for middle-market and small business segments, as well as leading strategies for 10 industry groups.

DeSett has also worked as head of North America Field Operations and Distribution for AIG, where he managed commercial business operations across the US, Canada, and Bermuda.
