Liberty Specialty Markets Indicates Champions Of An Inaugural Philanthropy Challenge

Liberty Specialty Markets (LSM), part of Liberty Mutual Insurance Group, today revealed the winner of its inaugural Liberty Challenge Cup 2022 – team No Paine, No Gain, who won a donation of £5,000 for their selected charity Macmillan Cancer Support.

The Liberty Challenge Cup is an annual competition that hosts brokers, underwriters and claims consultants from across the London Market, enabling them to meet new people and build their networks while striving against their peers in four challenges to raise money for charity. The 12 teams appointed a charity at the start of the challenge.

In second place came BD Bandits, whose chosen charity Smile earned a donation of £3,000 and in third place was Team FINPRO, who nominated The Danny Green Fund which received a payment of £1,000.  The remaining teams’ charities received £500 each. A total prize pot of £13,500 was donated to the 12 teams’ nominated charities.

Jennifer Bird, senior commerce manager at LSM offered her congratulations to the winning team and noted the alikeness of the competition, with only one point separating the leading teams at the end of the third challenge.

“As a result of COVID restrictions we have all missed out on the face-to-face interaction that is key to building our systems – particularly impacting people who joined the industry during the pandemic,” she said. “That’s why we inaugurated the Liberty Challenge Cup. We’re determined to support the young talent in the market who will be the leaders of the future.”

Liberty hosted the events with players from AJG, Marsh, Willis, Howden, Lockton, Tysers, Miller, SCR, Alesco, Aon, Ed Broking, Endeavour Insurance Services, International Risk Solutions, Integro, Bowood, Amwins, Chesterfield Insurance Brokers and Bell & Clements.
