Marsh Appoints Christos Adamantiadis As Global Head Of Placement And Market Solutions

Marsh has appointed Christos Adamantiadis as president and global head of placement and market solutions for Marsh Risk, a newly created position that will take effect on November 1, 2026.

Adamantiadis will report to Nick Studer, chief executive of Marsh Risk, and will succeed John Donnelly, the company’s president of global placement. Donnelly is expected to retire from the business next year.

In his new role, Adamantiadis will oversee Marsh Risk’s global placement and market solutions strategy. He will work closely with regional leadership teams and insurers around the world to support product innovation and strengthen the broker’s ability to design, structure and place insurance programmes across different markets, industries and client segments.

A New Global Role Following European Leadership

Adamantiadis takes on the new global position after serving as chief executive of Marsh Europe since March 2023. Before becoming CEO of Marsh Europe, he led the company’s Continental Europe division, assuming that role in January 2023 after spending seven years as head of Marsh’s Middle East and Africa region.

He joined Marsh in 2018 from Oman Insurance Company, where he served as chief executive for three years. Prior to that, Adamantiadis spent two decades with AIG in a range of regional leadership positions covering Central and Eastern Europe, Russia, Turkey, the Middle East and North Africa.

Tom Geraghty will succeed Adamantiadis as chief executive of Marsh Europe, also effective November 1, 2026.

Based in Dublin, Geraghty will report to Flavio Piccolomini, chief executive of Marsh International. He will oversee the strategic direction of Marsh’s European operations and focus on strengthening cooperation across the company’s businesses to provide integrated solutions for clients.

Geraghty previously served as president of Mercer Europe, another Marsh McLennan business. His experience within the group’s European leadership structure provides continuity as he moves into the leadership role on the broking side.

Leadership Continuity Across Marsh Europe

The appointments continue Marsh’s approach of drawing on experienced internal leaders when making senior changes across its European operations.

Adamantiadis previously moved into the Continental Europe CEO position from within the company’s regional leadership structure in 2023. His appointment to the newly created global placement and market solutions role similarly builds on his experience across multiple Marsh markets and regions.

For clients and brokers working with Marsh in Europe, the leadership changes bring executives with established knowledge of the company’s operations and the markets they will oversee. This provides continuity as Adamantiadis moves into his global role and Geraghty takes responsibility for Marsh Europe.
