Mosaic Insurance support global cyber line-up

Speciality insurer Mosaic Insurance has beefed up its global cybersecurity underwriting team, with the improvement of new members in its London bureau.

George Cole joins the company as AVP, underwriter, while Lucy Barker-Hahlo (pictured back, left) comes aboard as junior underwriter. Both will be part of Mosaic’s worldwide cyber group, reporting directly to James Tuplin, who heads the team.

In his new role, Cole will work with global clients to develop products and thrive in a sustainable cyber portfolio. He most recently worked as an assistant underwriter at Occam Underwriting after completing the Lloyd’s of London Graduate Programme. Cole is an accredited ASCII chartered insurer.

Barker Hahlo, meanwhile, will fund the unit by focusing on the underwriting of accounts. She previously served as an assistant underwriter at EmergIn Risk, specialising in cyber, technology, and media for the US and international clients.

Both will play key roles in helping the team led by Tuplin, who is developing the international cyber portfolio in London, continental Europe, the Asia-Pacific region, and the Middle East. The unit also supports the work of Mosaic’s US-based cyber underwriting team.

“I am very excited to declare openly the next steps in ramping up Mosaic’s international cyber team to meet the rising demand,” said Tuplin. “George and Lucy have established themselves as two of the best new cyber underwriters in the London market, and I look forward to working with them to build Mosaic’s cyber offering worldwide.”

Mosaic’s London cyber team is the firm’s first international unit. Globally, the company’s cyber teams support clients in preventing attacks and minimizing damage in the aftermath, offering several services, including crisis management and legal defence to business interruption and data recovery. Mosaic offers a maximum ability of up to £10 million internationally.

“With the cyber market rapidly hardening in 2021, and rate increases of between 40% and 50% on average now being discerned, we feel this is a perfect time to grow our international cyber team,” said Yosha DeLong (pictured back, right), global head of cyber at Mosaic. “Building on our London unit bolsters our bench strength in market-leading talent and allows us to powerfully thrive our global cyber offering.
