Claims giant Sedgwick has announced the appointment of Jonathan Mockridge as head of its UK environmental adjusting practice in a move that supports the expansion of its claims services for environmental losses.
Mockridge joins Sedgwick with over 25 years of experience in the insurance industry, having spent the last 13 years specializing in environmental losses associated with commercial, agricultural, and domestic pollution incidents, involving a variety of contaminants.
In his new role, Mockridge will be responsible for overseeing Sedgwick’s environmental adjusting team. His previous experience working alongside environmental statutory regulators, coupled with access to the specialist environmental consulting services provided by Sedgwick-owned EFI Global, will help him focus on cost-effective remedial strategies for addressing the challenges of site-specific pollution events. He will also provide supportive guidance to help customers work with statutory regulators.
Paul White, Sedgwick CEO for the UK, welcomed Mockridge to the firm and complimented the expertise that “he will bring to the environmental adjusting arm of our business.”
“Our developing specialty practice, coupled with Jonathan’s background and experience, will be a perfect fit for this crucial area of growth for us,” White said.
Andrew Kyle, EFI Global’s head of environmental consultancy, added that having an adjuster of Mockridge’s experience in the Sedgwick team would enable them to deliver the best service to clients and customers in this specialist field.
Commenting on his appointment, Mockridge also expressed his pleasure to be leading an “experienced team of environmental specialist adjusters” with Sedgewick.
“I’m eager to work across Sedgwick’s network to expand on our delivery of first-class claims services for environmental losses,” he added.
Last month, Sedgwick appointed Steve Godbold as private client director in the UK. Godbold succeeds Clive Ellis, who will remain in a consultancy role for the company.
