Senior Insurance Sector Appointments Across The UK Market

Four insurance organisations have announced key senior appointments across workplace health consulting, London market broking, international casualty, and regional independent broking, underscoring the continued strength of recruitment activity throughout the UK insurance sector.

Global specialty reinsurance broker Consilium has appointed Olivia Bellingham as a partner within its international casualty risk solutions team, effective June 11. The appointment marks the third addition to the company’s casualty division in 2026, highlighting its ongoing commitment to strengthening its international casualty capabilities.

Bellingham joins Consilium from BMS, where she served as an international life sciences and casualty insurance broker. She began her insurance career with CFC and brings 12 years of industry experience to her new position.

South Wales Insurance Brokers Supports Growth with New Senior Hire

South Wales Insurance Brokers (SWIB) has named Martin Rees as senior account executive as the independent brokerage continues to expand its presence across South Wales.

The appointment follows a period of significant growth for the company, which recently completed its first acquisition and launched a new office in Treorchy. These developments form part of SWIB’s broader strategy to invest in local talent and strengthen its regional footprint.

Rees brings substantial industry expertise, having previously held senior leadership and director-level roles with major national insurance brokers. Additional details regarding his professional background were not disclosed.

Mercer Marsh Benefits Appoints Workplace Healthcare Consulting Leader

Mercer Marsh Benefits (MMB) has appointed Lorraine Roberts-Rance as workplace healthcare consulting leader, effective immediately.

Roberts-Rance brings more than 25 years of experience spanning both the public and private healthcare sectors in the UK and Australia. Her expertise includes workforce risk, organisational culture, and the human factors that influence patient health outcomes. She also spent seven years managing patient safety initiatives with NHS Trusts through a partnership with a US university hospital.

In her new position, Roberts-Rance will lead MMB’s UK Workplace Health Consulting team as the organisation expands its services for health and social care clients. She will also work closely with policymakers and government bodies while joining Mercer’s Global Workforce Health advisory network.

Aon Appoints Chief Broking Officer for Global Broking Centre

Aon has appointed Steve Dando as chief broking officer of its Global Broking Centre (GBC), the company’s wholesale and specialty broking division, effective July 1.

Dando most recently served as CEO of Aon’s Strategy and Technology Group and Inpoint across the UK and EMEA region. In that role, he led approximately 350 professionals working across advisory services, analytics, and portfolio strategy.

Before joining Aon, Dando was global head of broking at The Ardonagh Group, where he developed and managed the company’s broking and carrier management strategy.

As chief broking officer, he will be responsible for shaping broking strategy for the London-based GBC, enhancing market relationships, and advancing the integration of analytics, capital resources, and global expertise to deliver effective risk transfer solutions for clients.
