Slush Plans its Helsinki and Shanghai events Despite COVID-19 Pandemic

Slush 2020, the world’s leading startup event is all set to gather more than 20,000 change-makers counting thousands of startups and investors that will be present in Helsinki on Nov 19—20, 2020. Although the world is devasted with current scenarios around COVID-19 outbreak, Slush organizers have made it clear that they are ensuring necessary safety measures against organizing Slush 2020 on November 19–20, 2020.

The company is monitoring the situation on a daily basis and following the guidance given by authorities to ensure the safety of our community, including our team, volunteers, participants, and partners. The organizers also assured that they will continue to prepare for the Slush 2020, however, they will keep potential attendees posted with regular updates around the event affecting COVID-19 outbreak.

Every year, Slush promises to provide a program that can showcase concrete insights from entrepreneurs. This year, the event already has confirmations from companies like stripe, Clearbanc, Sequoia Capital, Twitch, Giphy, Brandless, Oatly, Hellosign, masterclass, Canva, IVP, Ada health, Coinshares and more.

The event consists of five stages namely – Founder Stage, Saga Sage, Quantum Stage, Launches and Pitches which will highlight the various aspects of the entrepreneurship lifecycle. The event will also invite startup pitches through its pitch competition stage. Last year, the pitch competition saw three finalists – o.Vision, Eversend and IPDx along with total 15 startups which were chosen out of the initial 100 startup in the competition.

Parallelly, Slush is also planning its flagship Slush Shanghai 2020 event that will take place on October 15-16, 2020 by convening more than 15,000 attendees with a theme of “Reboot the Future”. Slush Shanghai is the flagship event of Slush China, and it has grown to be the biggest and most international tech and startup event since its inauguration in 2016.
