The Hartford has announced the promotion of A. Morris “Mo” Tooker to the role of president, effective February 1. This move consolidates oversight of the company’s property-and-casualty operations under his leadership.
In his expanded role, Tooker will now oversee personal lines in addition to his current responsibilities, which encompass small commercial, middle and large commercial, global specialty, enterprise sales and distribution, and risk services. He will continue to report directly to Christopher Swift, The Hartford’s chairman and CEO.
Expressing his enthusiasm for the new position, Tooker emphasized the company’s dedication to leveraging technology to streamline processes and reduce risks.

Before joining The Hartford, Tooker was president of General Reinsurance Corporation, where he oversaw the global property and casualty reinsurance business.
CEO Christopher Swift praised Tooker as a seasoned industry leader with a proven track record of driving growth and encouraging teamwork, qualities that position him well to guide The Hartford’s continued success.
