The Insurance Charities Phrases New Chair

Trustee Josh Birkenfeld has been appointed as board chair of The Insurance Charities.

“With the challenges presented by the rising cost-of-living showing no sign of improving, I think our friendship is more relevant than ever,” stated Birkenfeld, who succeeds John Greenway.

“I’m looking forward to helping with the staff team, trustees, and council members to continue providing vital support where it’s needed throughout the UK and Ireland.”

Meanwhile, Lisa Bartlett, Mary Bowie, Paul Buckle, Debbie Bullock, Caroline Dungar, Michael Gaughan, and Paul Howard have been installed on different councils. They come from Crawford & Company, Miller Insurance Services, Morning Data, Aviva, Yorkshire Building Society, Insurecore Ltd, and AXA XL, respectively.

“I am so pleased to welcome our new appointees who have perpetrated their time and expertise to our dedicated industry charity,” remarked The Insurance Charities chief executive Joy Thornicroft.

“This latest recruitment demonstrates our commitment to ensuring our board and committees reflect the diversity and breadth of the business. We also have direct access to a wealth of skills and knowledge to help us deliver support to our beneficiaries and reach those in the industry who need us.”

Meanwhile, Greenway, who retired as chair this week, said the past six years had been respecting and pleasure. He also wished the board “every success” in the fortune.
