Intact Insurance And Westfield Specialty Strengthen Distribution Leadership With Senior Appointments

Two insurers have announced key leadership appointments aimed at strengthening their distribution capabilities, with each move reflecting broader strategic priorities beyond simple executive changes.

Intact Insurance has introduced a newly created commercial trading leadership role in the UK, while Westfield Specialty has continued its European expansion by extending its distribution leadership into the Nordic market.

Intact Insurance appoints Fraser Edmond as VP of Commercial Sales, Distribution and Marketing

Intact Insurance has named Fraser Edmond as Vice President, Commercial Sales, Distribution and Marketing, effective August 1. The newly established position reports to Tovah Grosscurth, Managing Director of Commercial Lines.

Edmond joins the insurer after founding and leading Broker Insights, a commercial insurance data platform. Over the past two years, he focused on expanding the business into the United States. Before that, he spent 25 years at Aviva, where his most recent role was Broker Distribution Director.

His appointment follows Intact Insurance’s recent restructuring of its local trading operations into four regional divisions: Scotland (Glasgow), North (Manchester and Leeds), South (London, Horsham and Maidstone), and Midlands and West (Birmingham and Bristol).

The combination of appointing a leader with a strong background in insurance data and digital distribution while reorganising regional trading operations suggests a continued focus on improving broker engagement and commercial trading efficiency. Brokers already working with digital platforms and data-sharing models may find Edmond’s experience particularly relevant. Meanwhile, brokers operating through more traditional trading relationships may wish to confirm with their local Intact representatives whether the regional restructuring has changed day-to-day trading authority and decision-making responsibilities.

Westfield Specialty expands Nordic distribution with Nicole Preis appointment

Westfield Specialty has appointed Nicole Victoria Preis as Head of Distribution, Nordics, supporting the company’s continued expansion of its European distribution network.

Preis will report directly to Cornelia Roskau, Chief Executive of Westfield Specialty International (Europe) S.A., while also maintaining a matrix reporting line to Sarah McNally, Head of Distribution International. She will oversee the company’s distribution strategy across the Nordic region, strengthen relationships with brokers and business partners, and support the delivery of Westfield Specialty’s specialist insurance offerings to clients across the market.

The appointment follows the establishment of Westfield Specialty’s European company market platform in Luxembourg in 2025, enabling the insurer to underwrite risks on its own company paper alongside its existing Lloyd’s Syndicate 1200 capacity.

Preis joins from AIG, where she most recently served as Senior Client and Broker Engagement Director for the Nordic region. She brings more than 15 years of industry experience, having previously held client relationship and claims positions with Marsh, Söderberg & Partners, Aon and Topdanmark.

Her arrival continues Westfield Specialty’s investment in senior distribution leadership, following several key appointments, including the recruitment of Sarah McNally as Head of Distribution International in October 2025.
