Millers Mutual Insurance, a provincial property-casualty insurance carrier, has announced the growth of Samuel Hess to vice president and chief information officer.
As CIO, Hess will operate with Millers’ business units to specify, formulate and enforce information technology capacities that facilitate the company’s strategic direction, support day-to-day business strategies, position the company favourably with administrative stakeholders and agencies, and function as per legislation.
“Sam’s agreement to self-development and his supervision skills has proven he is up to the challenge,” said Jonah Mull, president and CEO of Millers. “Sam has always had the ‘can-do’ behaviour and has maintained through many difficult situations. We are sure he, with the infusion of all those around him, will help lead us into the future.”
Hess has stood with the Millers Mutual IT team for more than five years, instances of increasing responsibility and aptitude, including becoming certified and attending as a chief information security officer in 2020.
“Sam has amassed the respect of his colleagues throughout our institution and will be a great addition meant to Millers Mutual’s senior leadership team,” said Jeffrey Pratt, executive vice president and chief financial officer at Millers Mutual.
Before joining Millers Mutual, Hess assisted as an IT support/technology developer for Millville Mutual.
