Michele Grosso, co-founder, and chief executive of insurance Democracy, has joined the board of directors at Luxembourg-based non-profit association Microinsurance Network (MiN).
“We are delighted to welcome Michele to our board of directors,” said MiN chair Lorenzo Chan. “He brings an impressive experience in digital and technological innovation as well as the efficient distribution of affordable and accessible insurance in various markets.
“We are excited to collaborate with him and look forward to his donations as the Network continues its mission of driving inclusive insurance and bringing protection to the underserved and those who need it most.”
Grosso’s credentials include time spent at the likes of MetLife, AXA, BNP Paribas, PwC, and Candesic.
“There is irrefutable evidence that inclusive insurance has the potential to make a significant and lasting contribution to public policy goals and to closing the global people protection gap,” noted the new board member, whose firm was set up in 2015 to digitize the sales and distribution verticals of the insurance value chain for emerging market segments.
“The use of technology and digital innovation is key to filling the gaps in the penetration of insurance – particularly in terms of helping to bring insurance to new, often hard-to-reach communities – and I am very much looking forward to working with the excellent MiN team, its members, and partners on the ground to bring about meaningful change.”
The MiN, which is two decades old and is focused on making insurance inclusive, connects more than 500 experts and practitioners from over 70 countries.
