Endava and Beazley: aptimising Rulebook together

For seven years Endava’s dedicated team has worked through Beazley’s digital journey

Endava and Beazley, both worldwide enterprises based in the United Kingdom, have collaborated for over seven years on a variety of products, including Beazley’s e-trading platform, reporting services, and other applications. Gavril (Gabi) Halasu, Endava’s Head of Applications Management, adds, “Recently, we’ve been assisting Beazley in their digital transformation journey and agile transformation process.”

Endava, as one of the world’s leading providers of digital transformation consulting and agile software development services, has become well renowned for the innovative, low-code solutions it delivers for its clients, making the two firms an excellent match. “We are a service provider that works with global clients across multiple verticals,” says Design Lead Ioana Catinean. “Gabi and I, on the other hand, have mostly concentrated on insurance clients, for whom low-code platform-building is particularly useful.” For example, if an insurance company wants to easily engage its brokers, customise amongst teams, develop their client base, and implement the solution quickly, low-code is the way to go because it’s easier and provides a quick return on investment.”novative insurance company.”

Endava and Beazley have been working together for almost seven years. Beazley sought a strategic partner in 2015 to help their IT teams provide rapid innovation and increase the value of testing. They were reliant on in-house personnel at the time, who were handicapped by spreadsheet dependency. This alliance now provides continuing economic value through teamwork, with 65 percent of ideas developed being examined further in an innovation lab and 36 percent being put into production. “Endava has access to talent markets that we don’t,” says Beazley’s Head of Technology James Wright. Endava offers us with a critical talent pipeline, allowing us to quickly expand our ideas and concepts by utilising extremely talented programmers who we would not otherwise have access to.”

It was a game-changer for Beazley to implement and develop products using Sequel Rulebook, whose dynamic rules engine can accept pricing models across all main classes of company, making it the ideal replacement to the spreadsheet. “For the past six years, we’ve been developing products on their Rulebook platform, and we now have over 15 products up and running, the most of which are broker-facing.” “This has greatly aided them in expanding their client base,” Gabi explains. “This has been the ideal solution for all of Beazley’s internal difficulties, and it’s also proven to be an enabler in their entire digital transformation effort.”

Endava offers a lot more than just IT expertise. Its collaboration concept provides insurance providers with focused and trustworthy outcomes in a timely manner. “Beazley is a terrific example of partnership,” Ioana Catinean says. We’ve always collaborated as partners, as if we were an extension of the Beazley team. When we onboard new members of the Beazley team, we make it a priority to ensure that they are well-versed in insurance!”
