Insurance Sector Strengthens Leadership With Series Of Senior Appointments

A series of senior appointments across the insurance market has strengthened leadership teams spanning MGA operations, specialist underwriting, consultancy, marine broking and global insurance standards.

Acies MGU appoints David Eynon to lead Subscribe

Acies MGU has appointed David Eynon as managing director of Subscribe, its financial lines MGA, as the business enters its next phase of growth with backing from Lloyd’s and A-rated capacity.

Eynon brings more than 30 years of experience across underwriting, distribution and MGA management. His previous senior London Market positions include leading the London Market underwriting operation at Manchester Underwriting Management and heading the special lines division at Sagicor Syndicate 1206.

Subscribe launched in late 2025 as a Lloyd’s-backed MGA providing professional indemnity, directors’ and officers’, and management liability insurance to UK and international brokers. The business has since been developing additional specialist facilities under its new leadership.

Fiducia promotes Emma Harvey to Combined Liabilities underwriter

Leeds-based MGA Fiducia has promoted Emma Harvey to underwriter within its Combined Liabilities team.

Harvey joined Fiducia as an assistant underwriter following previous commercial broking roles at Aon and Gauntlet Group.

In her new position, she will work with UK, European and international brokers on employers’ liability, public liability and products liability insurance for hauliers, couriers and warehousekeepers.

The promotion follows Fiducia’s expansion of its Combined Liabilities risk appetite last year to include a wider range of contractor trades, including builders, groundworkers, and plant and skip hirers.

ACORD appoints John Kellington as chief executive

Global insurance standards organisation ACORD has appointed John Kellington as chief executive, returning him to an organisation where he previously held a senior standards role.

Kellington served as ACORD’s senior vice president of standards development from 2007 to 2010. He subsequently spent 16 years as chief information officer at Cincinnati Insurance, where he led an architecture-focused IT transformation based on ACORD standards.

He also previously served on ACORD’s board of directors.

Kellington succeeds Bill Pieroni, who left ACORD in April 2025. Chief operating officer Tanya Krochta served as acting chief executive during the interim period.

His previous experience on both sides of the standards process gives him direct experience of implementing ACORD standards within an insurance organisation. The appointment comes as ACORD continues to focus on improving data connectivity and the practical use of insurance data standards.

Angelica Solutions adds pricing specialist Amy Illingworth

Insurance consultancy Angelica Solutions has expanded its network of senior specialists with the addition of Amy Illingworth.

Illingworth is a qualified actuary with more than 15 years of experience covering pricing, product development and commercial strategy. Her first assignment through Angelica Solutions is an interim head of pricing position with an MGA client.

The consultancy operates through a flexible network model, connecting insurance specialists with clients for interim and specialist assignments.

ATL appoints Sean Woollerson to marine division

Independent Lloyd’s broker ATL has appointed Sean Woollerson as director of its marine division.

Woollerson brings more than 35 years of international marine insurance experience across hull, war risks and loss of hire coverage.

He joins ATL from Price Forbes, where he served as deputy chief executive of the marine division. His previous experience also includes senior marine positions at Besso and almost three decades at JLT.

The appointment forms part of ATL’s broader strategy to diversify its business beyond its traditional energy and marine focus. The broker also appointed a director late last year to lead its expansion into M&A, tax and capital risks.

Woollerson’s appointment adds further senior marine expertise to ATL across several specialist lines, including hull, war risks and loss of hire.
