MS Reinsurance Appoints Andy Hottinger As Head Of P&C For EMEA Regions

In a strategic move aimed at bolstering its operations across Europe, the Middle East, and Africa (EMEA), MS Reinsurance proudly welcomes Andy Hottinger as its new head of property and casualty (P&C) for these pivotal regions.

Hottinger brings to the table an impressive two decades of experience in reinsurance underwriting, positioning him as a formidable leader to drive the company’s expansion and operational strategies within these dynamic markets.

Prior to joining MS Reinsurance, Hottinger served as the president of EMEA & Latin America at Axis Re, where he led non-life underwriting teams with a sharp focus on core P&C and specialty lines of business. His extensive leadership roles span a wide geographical landscape, including significant responsibilities in both the EMEA and Latin American regions.

With a background steeped in senior underwriting positions in engineering, Hottinger has honed his skills in business development, team leadership, and customer engagement, making him a valuable asset to MS Reinsurance’s executive team.

Based in the Zurich office, Hottinger will report directly to Joerg Bruniecki, the CUO International of MS Reinsurance. His mandate encompasses enhancing the company’s service delivery and expanding its market reach across established and emerging markets within the EMEA region.

Hottinger’s appointment marks a pivotal moment in MS Reinsurance’s strategic vision to fortify its leadership team and broaden its footprint in key global markets.

In addition to Hottinger’s appointment, the MS&AD group, parent firm of MS Reinsurance, announces other significant changes within its ranks. Sam Geddes assumes the role of head of reinsurance & deputy chief underwriting officer (CUO) at global re/insurer MS Amlin. Geddes, formerly the head of property delegated authority at the firm, passes the baton to Simon Morgan, who will now oversee the company’s property division, including commercial property “D&F,” property binders, and auto.
