Zurich Adds To The Organization’s Underwriting Purpose

Zurich Insurance Group has elected Stephen Moss as group head of economic lines and cyber, as well as Andreas Schmitt as group cyber underwriting manager.

Both appointments will be beneficial on September 01, 2022.

Moss joined Zurich in 2017, originally as head of specialties, UK. He has additional than 25 years of experience in the insurance industry. In his new role, he will be accountable for professional indemnity, D&O, financial institutions, mergers & acquisitions, and cyber and formal indemnities. Moss has held several senior underwriting and broking roles, such as casualty portfolio underwriting director, underwriting director, and underwriting director for economic risks. The new group head of financial lines and cyber will report to Hayley Robinson and will be based in the UK.

Schmitt, meanwhile, joins Zurich from Munich Re, where he recently served as head of cyber in Asia. As group cyber underwriting manager. In his new role, he will work with Zurich’s country offices worldwide to conserve a consistent and enhanced cyber underwriting approach. He will also provide product aptitude and counsel to optimize underwriting performance. Schmitt has more than 30 years of experience and has led teams on all mainlands. He will report to Stephen Moss and be based in Switzerland.

For the first half of 2022, Zurich documented that its business operating profit rose 25% to $3.393 million – the insurer’s highest in 14 years and its second highest ever.
