Zurich Appoints Frank Verkerk as Group Chief Platform Officer

The insurance group Zurich has announced the appointment of Frank Verkerk to the brand-new created role of group chief platform officer. Verkerk in his new role will work to accelerate the company’s development of digital services.

Before joining Zurich, Verkerk was the chief digital officer for ABN Amro. While working at ABN Amro, Verkerk has launched and chaired AA ventures, which corporate venture capital fund specializing in fintech. Earlier he founded various digital companies, which includes challenges digital bank money-on, which had been launched in four European countries.

At Zurich, Verkerk will focus on allowing open platforms with third parties for the company’s businesses to fast-track development and integrate insurance as a service solution. He will work closely with Zurich’s global business platforms unit with the help of Jack Howell. Frank will be based in Zurich, Switzerland, and report to Group Chief Information and Digital Officer, Ericson Chan.

Chan expressed a highly delightful welcome to Frank Verkerk and said that Frank has a very strong background and understanding of the data transformation and digital business and is a proven skilled leader, he also added that it is the company’s priority to continuously strengthen capabilities to deliver a superior solution to the customers. And hoped for the loge term success with Frank.
