Canopius Group has recently appointed Valentina Minetti as the head of medical professional liability (MPL), effective immediately. With nearly three decades of experience in the insurance sector, Minetti brings a wealth of knowledge in healthcare lines and actuarial science to her new role.
According to her LinkedIn profile, Minetti’s career includes notable positions such as active underwriter at Coverys Syndicate 1975, where she managed the US hospitals portfolio at Beazley, and initial roles in actuarial positions at RSA, GE Financial, and Groupama.
Minetti, a master’s graduate in mathematics and an affiliate member of the Institute of Actuaries, joins Canopius as part of the company’s strategic initiative to expand its medical professional liability division. This expansion commenced last year with the recruitment of Ashley Moulton as healthcare underwriter and Alex Tindall as an underwriting analyst.
Alois Rouffiac, Canopius UK chief underwriting officer, expressed confidence in Minetti’s leadership, stating, “Valentina is highly regarded within the global healthcare industry and the ideal candidate to lead this area of our business. With the recent additions of Ashley and Alex, the team is well-positioned to further enhance our market share in this specialized field.”
In addition to bolstering its medical professional liability division, Canopius recently unveiled a new investment management insurance product tailored for asset managers within its specialty group.
